The Flying Hammerlock Video Review #75: Ultimo Dragon Vs. Low Ki

Ultimo Dragon vs. Low Ki, NWE Destiny #3, Palabasket, Bellinzona, Ticino, Switzerland, November 26, 2005 (taped October 29th.)

No backstory here, just Dragon wrestling in various places after leaving WWE in 2004.   Nu-Wrestling Evolution is an Italian promotion founded in 2005 and is still running today.  Dragon is the face here.  There is no commentary for this match.

They go to tie up and Dragon kicks Low Ki in the midsection.   Dragon grabs a side headlock and they go into the ropes and Low Ki whips Dragon across and Dragon comes off with a shoulderblock.  Dragon runs off the ropes and they do the criss-cross spot and Dragon comes off again and Low Ki leapfrogs him.  A third time and Dragon dives over Low Ki and Low Ki catches him with a clothesline.  Low Ki snapmares Dragon and covers but only gets 2.  Low Ki wrenches Dragon's head and brings him up to his feet.   Low Ki whips Dragon into the ropes but Dragon ducks Low Ki's clothesline and hits him with a headscissors takeover, sending Low Ki out to the wood floor. (No pretty blue mats here.)  Dragon teases a pescado but slingshots himself onto the apron.  Low Ki grabs Dragon's legs and pulls him down to the floor.  Low Ki punches Dragon, who is up against the guardrail, twice and gives him a big chop that knocks Dragon to the floor.  Low Ki whips Dragon into another section of the guardrail.  Low Ki grabs Dragon by the head and rolls him back into the ring and follows.  Low Ki covers and gets 2.  Low Ki staggers Dragon with a kick, knocking Dragon into a sitting position against the ropes.  Low Ki stomps Dragon and grabs him by the head and snapmares him again.  Dragon is down and Low Ki exits the ring and climbs up to the top but Dragon gets up and stops him.   Dragon slaps Low Ki.  Dragon climbs up to the second turnbuckle and hooks Low Ki for a Superplex.   They fight over it but Dragon hits it.   Dragon is down in the corner and Low Ki walks over and stomps him.   Low Ki pulls Dragon up by his head and whips him into the opposite corner.   Low Ki follows him in with a handspring Enzuigiri.   It gets 2.  Low Ki is surprised by that.   Low Ki goes out and climbs to the top but Dragon runs into the ropes, crotching Low Ki up there.  Dragon chops Low Ki and climbs up and hits him with a huracanrana.   Dragon covers and gets 2.  Dragon hits a backbreaker and walks over to the corner and points to the top turnbuckle, as if he's asking the crowd if they want him to go up there.  The crowd reacts positively, so Dragon obliges.   Dragon goes for a moonsault but Low Ki rolls out of the way but Dragon lands on his feet.   Dragon charges at Low Ki but Low Ki back body drops him.   Dragon lands on his feet and hits another rana but Low Ki turns it into a rollup for a 2 count!   Dragon gets a drop toehold and follows with La Majistral for a 2 count.     Low Ki chops Dragon twice and gives him a big kick that sends Dragon into the ropes.   Then another big kick.  Low Ki charges at Dragon but Dragon catches him with a Quebrada con hilo (tilt-a-whirl backbreaker).   Dragon kicks Low Ki and hooks him for the Asai DDT for the pin!  ****

Really good match here, they worked well together for a one-time only match.   Recommended and you can watch it here.
