The Flying Hammerlock Video Review #68: MsChif vs. KAORU

ChickFight VI Tournament Semifinal Match: MsChif vs. KAORU, ChickFight VI, KEZAR Pavilion, San Francisco, CA, September 1, 2006.

ChickFight was a series of women's tournaments created by All Pro Wrestling which ran from 2004-2008.

MsChif defeated Hailey Hatred and KAORU defeated Tiana Ringer by referee's decision earlier in the night to get to this point.

MsChif screams at the referee, who gives up on the pre-match frisk and calls for the bell.  KAORU offers a handshake and MsChif screams at her, causing KAORU to back away from her.  KAORU bows to MsChif and offers the handshake again.  MsChif accepts the handshake and KAORU grabs MsChif's hand and starts biting it.   KAORU wraps MsChif's hand in the ropes and starts kicking away at her.  We jump past a commercial break.  KAORU works over the arm and goes to whip MsChif across but MsChif reverses it. KAORU comes off the ropes and MsChif screams at her again.  KAORU screams at MsChif, which has no effect.  MsChif screams again and KAORU gives her a big kick to the side of the face.  KAORU brings MsChif up and snapmares her and applies a sleeper.   MsChif gets to the ropes to escape.   Back up, KAORU tries to whip MsChif into the ropes but MsChif reverses it and applies a sleeper of her own.   KAORU falls down but grabs the second rope to escape.   KAORU goes out to the floor to recover.  MsChif paces back and forth in the ring and screams again at KAORU when she is trying to get back in the ring.  KAORU tries to get back in the ring and MsChif runs at her and screams again.   A third time, and KAORU grabs MsChif's leg and pulls her out to the floor.  KAORU drags MsChif to another side of the ring and slams her face into a ringside table.  KAORU positions MsChif against a ring post and kicks away at her.  KAORU grabs a chair and just throws it at MsChif but MsChif gets out of the way.  MsChif starts pounding on KAORU's back.   MsChif goes to whip KAORU into the guardrail but KAORU reverses it and sends MsChif into the rail instead.  KAORU stomps MsChif on the floor (no pretty blue mats here) and sends her face first into the steps.  KAORU rolls MsChif back into the ring and grabs a chair and tries to enter the ring with the chair.  KAORU gets into an argument and a tug of war over the chair with the referee.  MsChif runs over and accidentally hits the referee.   KAORU runs at MsChif with the chair but MsChif gets out of the way and the chair bounces off the top rope, forcing KAORU to hit herself in the face with the chair.  MsChif grabs KAORU and gives her some shots and hits an Inverted DDT.  MsChif covers but there's no referee to count it.   We jump past another commercial break.  MsChif locks in a standing submission hold, finally letting go and sending KAORU face first to the mat.  MsChif rolls her over for a pin and gets 2.  MsChif brings KAORU up and gives her a short-arm clothesline for a 2 count.   MsChif hits a Standing Moonsault but KAORU bridges out at 2.  KAORU dropkicks MsChif's knee, which is in a brace.   KAORU goes to work on the knee.  MsChif fights back by kneeing KAORU in the face to stop the attack.   KAORU goes for a big kick but MsChif rolls underneath.  KAORU ducks MsChif's clothesline and hits a release German Suplex.  Another German Suplex.  KAORU goes for the pin but only gets 2.  KAORU brings MsChif up and looks to be going for a suplex but MsChif counters with a small package for 2.  MsChif gets a schoolgirl rollup for 2.  KAORU comes back with a boot to the midsection and a shot to the back.   KAORU climbs up and sits down on the top turnbuckle.  MsChif gives her a forearm to the midsection.  MsChif ascends the ropes and gives KAORU some forearms to the back and hits her diving twisting Samoan Drop.   It gets 2.   Both women are down and KAORU rolls out to the floor.  KAORU looks for help from the APW (All Pro Wrestling) security guy.  MsChif walks over and tries to spit the green mist in KAORU's eyes but she gets out of the way and the mist hits the security guy instead.  Back in the ring, KAORU hits MsChif with a huracanrana for the pin at 9:49! ****

Really good match all around.   (For the record, Daizee Haze defeated KAORU in the tournament final on the following night's APW show.)   Recommended and you can watch it here.
