The Flying Hammerlock Video Review #42: Ford Vs. Janela

Penelope Ford vs. "The Bad Boy" Joey Janela, CZW Dojo Wars #37, CZW Academy, Blackwood, NJ, July 22, 2015.

These two wrestled each other three times on Dojo Wars shows before this, with Penelope winning each time.   They would later join forces as a tag team called Janelope in a variety of promotions before going their separate ways.   There is no commentary for this match.

They circle each other and tie up and Janela grabs a rear waistlock into a takedown.  He floats over into a facelock.   He brings Penelope up and turns it into an arm wringer and works on her arm.   He whips her into the corner and charges in but she kips up and armdrags him out of the corner.   Back up, Joey runs at her but she ducks his clothesline and comes up with a flying headscissors.   She follows that with a vertical suplex.   It gets 2.   Joey is in the corner and Penelope does a back handspring but he drives his knees into her back to stop her.  Joey snapmares her and applies a headscissors.   Penelope rolls her way to the ropes to escape.  Joey whips her into the ropes and she comes off with a cartwheel into a bodypress for 2.   Joey comes back with a belly-to-back suplex for 2.   Joey whips Penelope into the ropes and sets up for a back body drop but Penelope catches him and slowly turns it into a sunset flip for 2.  Joey gets up and grabs Penelope's ankle looking for a leglock but the referee counts her shoulders down for 2.  Joey applies a standing figure-four but Penelope won't submit.  Joey drops down to the mat and grabs the bottom rope and releases the hold.  They circle each other and go in for a tie up but Joey gets a schoolboy rollup for 2.  Joey locks on a crossface.   Penelope makes it to the ropes.   They both get to their feet.  Joey backs Penelope against the ropes and chops her.  Joey smacks Penelope's face against a turnbuckle.  Joey whips Penelope into the opposite corner and charges in but Penelope gets out of the way.  Penelope goes to the opposite corner and this time the back handspring connects.   Penelope runs off the ropes and hits a tilt-a-whirl headscissors.   Penelope covers and gets 2.  Back up, Joey connects with two uppercuts and whips Penelope off the ropes and when she comes back he hits her with a discus clothesline.   It gets 2.   Joey hits Penelope with a double-axhandle and whips her into the corner.  He says, "Choo Choo!" and charges in but Penelope gets her boot up to stop him.  Penelope climbs up and comes off with a flying bodypress for 2.  Penelope goes for a vertical suplex but Joey blocks it.  Again.   Joey counters into a Brainbuster.   It gets 2.  Joey slams Penelope and climbs up top, but Penelope moves out of the way of the Moonsault.   Penelope goes for another vertical suplex and hits it this time.   It gets 2.  Penelope goes for another vertical suplex and Joey blocks it again.  Joey turns it into a small package for 2.  Joey hits a DDT for 2.  Joey shoves Penelope.   He then asks her for a kiss.   He grabs her shoulder but she turns it into a schoolgirl rollup into an O'Connor roll for the pin at 8:14!  ****

Really good match as they showed the chemistry that would make them a very entertaining tag team.  Recommended and you can watch it here.
