The Flying Hammerlock Video Review #31: Mandy Vs. Santana

QOC Title Tournament First Round Match: "The Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon vs. Santana Garrett, QOC 5, Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium, Gibsonville, NC, June 13, 2015.

We start with both ladies introducing themselves, as this was their Queens of Combat debuts. Notably, Santana puts over Mandy as "beautiful, talented and very sexy."

Mandy offers a handshake and Santana accepts it.  They circle each other a bit and tie up in the middle of the ring.  Santana gets a rear waistlock and Mandy escapes and grabs a side headlock.  Santana escapes and applies a hammerlock.  Mandy escapes that and applies a hammerlock of her own as commentator Jeff Todd mentions that Mandy was trained by Delirious (her now husband) at the ROH Dojo.  Santana breaks free and hits a fireman's carry.   Santana covers and gets 2.  Santana applies an armbar as Mandy gets to her feet.  Santana turns it into an arm wringer.  Mandy rolls and gets to her feet and turns it into a wristlock.   Santana does a similar roll and then a cartwheel and gets an armdrag.   Mandy charges but Santana trips her up and goes for the pin.   It gets 2.   Now Santana charges and Mandy trips her up and goes for the pin, with the same result.  They circle each other and Mandy extends her arm and appears to be looking for a tie up or a test of strength.   Mandy does get her test of strength and wins, powering Santana backwards down onto her head.   Santana powers up and forces Mandy backwards.   Mandy gets back up and they stand back to back, still holding each other's hands and Santana flips Mandy over.  They are still hanging on to each other's hands and trying another test of strength.   Santana frees one of her hands and chops Mandy and runs to the corner, climbs up top and hits an armdrag.   Santana goes to whip Mandy off the ropes but Mandy reverses it but Santana drops down, slips between Mandy's legs and trips up Mandy.  Santana springs off the ropes and grabs Mandy's head for an inverted STF.  Mandy turns her body and gets a foot on the bottom rope to break the hold.  Back to her feet, Mandy clotheslines Santana and goes ground and pound on her.  Mandy sits Santana up and applies a leg nelson.   Santana counters it into a pin for 2.   Mandy reapplies the hold.   Santana breaks out of the hold.  Mandy kicks Santana and goes for a second one but Santana catches the boot.  Santana pushes Mandy's boot to the side and Mandy lands in a split and appears to have hurt herself there.  Santana goes for a kick but Mandy grabs her boot and forces Santana into a split of her own but Santana doesn't have a problem with it.  Santana punches Mandy and Mandy chops Santana.   Santana hits Mandy with forearms and a big headbutt.  They get back to their feet and they exchange forearms while screaming.  Then they exchange elbows to the head.  Santana backs Mandy up to the ropes and throws some more forearms.   Santana goes to whip Mandy off the ropes but Mandy counters and sends Santana into the ropes.   Santana comes off the ropes and clotheslines Mandy.   Another clothesline.  Santana grabs Mandy's arm and hits a Russian Legsweep for a 2 count.  Santana sends Mandy into the corner.  Santana runs from the opposite corner and hits a cartwheel but Mandy stops her with a knee to the back.  Mandy gets on Santana's shoulders and hits a Victory Roll for a 2 count.  Santana ducks Mandy's clothesline and hits a Superkick.   Santana runs from one side of the ring to the other and hits her handspring Standing Moonsault the Shining Star Press for the pin!  ***1/2.

Very good match from both ladies.  (For the record, Taeler Hendrix d. Tessa Blanchard in the tournament final at QOC 7 on November 29, 2015.) Recommended and you can watch it here.
